Friends of Hamilton County Parks, Inc. seeks to diversify the participation of youth interested in the parks and recreation field by providing scholarship support. We promote and support diverse participation in the development of creative and talented students interested in pursuing a career in parks and recreation who are members of groups traditionally underrepresented. FHCPI seeks to increase an understanding of diversity and talent development by including participation in our Board. FHCPI will work with local high schools and other youth related organizations to recruit applicants.
Youth Recreation Leader Scholarship Applicant Requirements:
- Applicants must be a Junior in high school in Hamilton County, IN.
- Applicant must submit a complete application package and email submission package to execdir@friendshcp.org before July 31, 2025.
- Applicants, if chosen, must be able to attend FHCPI Board Meetings conducted on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from approximately 5:30 – 6:30 pm.
Application packages must include the following:
- Resume demonstrating your capabilities and work or volunteer experience in parks and/or recreation related projects. (Max. 2 pages)
- A written submission of your commitment to the field of Parks and Recreation linking to FHCPI’s mission/goals. Include your plan for post-secondary education in the parks and recreation or related field. (Max. 500 words)
- Letters of reference. (3 letters at minimum)
