Since 2006, the Friends of Hamilton County Parks has invested nearly 3 million dollars in establishing, improving, and promoting parks in Hamilton County. The majority of these funds were focused on developing and opening Coxhall Gardens, one of the newer Hamilton County Parks. Significant support has also been provided for Strawtown Koteewi Park.
2025 Active People Healthy Hamilton County Grant

2024 Coxhall Pond Fountains Repair

Friends of Hamilton County Parks provided funds to repair two pond fountains located within Coxhall Gardens.

2024 Coxhall Gardens Centerpiece Updates

Much needed maintenance and repairs to the Coxhall Gardens Centerpiece were funded by Friends of Hamilton County Parks.
2023 The Williams House at Coxhall

The Williams House, built in 1865, is currently undergoing restoration in order to preserve its historic Italianate architecture.
The Friends of Hamilton County Parks foundation helped launch the restoration initiative by donating $375,000.
2023 Coxhall Conservatory Feasibility Study

FHCP is funding the feasibility study for the conservatory at Coxhall Gardens.
2022 Burr Oak Bend Land Transfer

Friends of Hamilton County Parks partnered with Central Indiana Land Trust and the Hamilton County Parks and Recreation Department to complete the land transfer and reforestation of Burr Oak Bend

2021 Nonie Werbe Krauss Invasive Species Eradication

FHCP supported the stewardship team in eradicating roughly 80 percent of the pear trees that were beginning to choke out a 2008 oak-heavy tree planting.

Design and construction of a pollinator garden and outdoor classroom at Coxhall Gardens.

Repairs and upgrades to the bell towers at Coxhall Gardens.

Strawtown Koteewi

Interpretive exhibits at Strawtown-Koteewi Park explore the history of the park as a home to First Nation peoples and European settlers. Support from the Friends of Hamilton Couty Parks also made possible the purchase of an inflatable archery unit.
